Sewing machines tend to be items that can be left in attics and rarely used, used occasionally or constantly. The best way to keep your machine running well is to use it regularly and lubricate it every few months. If you continue to use it when it starts to sound particularly noisy or if you can smell burning you run the risk of causing some serious damage. Incorrect needles or thread contribute to many sewing machine problems.
