Costs

A service is a standard cost of £60.00. Any parts required will normally be charged at cost but we will contact you first if the part is expensive.  Most services do not require any parts.  You can drop/pick up your machine whenever is convenient to you.  Wherever you are in the surrounding areas we are here to help.

What does a service involve

• Removing all machine casing, cleaning and oiling/greasing any moving parts

• Bobbin case is taken apart checked for wear and sharp edges then cleaned

• Timing hook is checked for burrs and filed down if necessary

• The hand wheel is dismantled to lubricate the shaft

• Bobbin winder mechanism checked for wear

• Needle and feed dog timing is checked and adjusted if necessary

• Top and bottom tensions are balanced

• Gears and belts are checked for wear and correct fit

• Levers and dials checked for wear and tested to make sure they are functioning correctly

• Foot control, cables and light checked (customer advised if these are not safe to use and replacements ordered if necessary)

• Any cotton tangled in machine is removed

• If any parts need replacing customer is informed and parts ordered if agreed

• Once machine is reassembled all stitches are checked to make sure they are functioning correctly

• Machine is cleaned ready for return
